Did anyone notice that England failed to qualify for a football tournament last night.
I started watching with an open mind but John Motson did his best to close it with his inane commentary ably assisted by the inept Mark Lawrenson (I thought he was actually Irish)
When they started to clutch at the straw that was Andorra saving them by somehow managing to earn their first point of the campaign I thought give it up boys and accept that you just dont deserve to qualify
I have friends in England and none of them will be sorry to see McClaren go. He still reminds me of Attenborough in The Great Escape and he too has now faced his firing squad this morning.
So like Scotland, England have now to wait 10 months for their next competitive game
Oh well, never mind the Chamions League starts again next week
